A Message from Carola Otero Bracco, Executive Director of Neighbors Link

Thank you to everyone in our community for your incredible support during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Our centers in Mount Kisco and Ossining continue to be open and available to provide emergency legal services, one-on-one crisis support and urgent relief. I wanted to update you on how we are responding to this crisis.

  • We are providing food to more than 3,000 people throughout Westchester County each week through our partnerships with Feeding Westchester and the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, our Hot Meal program with Stone Fire, Falafel Taco, El Tesoro, Gullota House and Quaker Hill Tavern and our home delivery of food and grocery gift cards.
  • In addition to delivering Hot Meals to individuals and families in need, our new partnership with Gullota House allows us to distribute 800 hot meals each Saturday along with the shelf stable food.
  • More than $35,000 worth of gift cards to Target, Stop and Shop and C-Town Grocers have been distributed to help families pay for food and other essential supplies.
  • Dedicated volunteers are making food deliveries to people who are too ill to go out or need to isolate.
  • We have transitioned our English Language and Parent Education programming to remote learning.
  • Our staff is making 1,000 calls each week to check-in, provide one-on-one crisis assistance and support remote learning.
  • Our Immigration Legal Practice is busier than ever. In addition to remote legal services, our team is providing remote consultation days and recording and sharing public service announcements and webinars about changes in law or policies.
  • Through our partnership with 914 Cares, we have been able to deliver diapers to dozens of families throughout our community.
  • In addition to the organizations listed above, we are working closely with the following partners to make this work possible: Bedford Central School District, Ossining Union Free School District, Westchester County Police Department, Village of Mount Kisco, Town and Village of Ossining, Curtis Instruments and the Community Center of Northern Westchester.

Once again, thank you to everyone supporting Neighbors Link during this time. If you know of anyone who needs help, please call us at 914-666-3410. If you have questions about the work we are doing, feel free to email Eva Kelly, Director of Development and Communications at ekelly@neighborslink.org.

Stay safe and well.

Sincerely,

#
