Family Center Director

Agency Description: The mission of Neighbors Link is to strengthen the whole community by actively enhancing the healthy integration of immigrants.Neighbors Link provides innovative and impact driven programming to immigrant families and works to empower clients to successfully navigate community resources and to foster client leadership.

Job Summary:

The Neighbors Link Family Center grounds its programming in the philosophy that parents are a child’s first teacher. With that backdrop, we offer evidenced-informed programming in parent education, school readiness, after-school and summer academic support, and healthy family relationships. The full-time Family Center Director will oversee programs, operations, and annual budget; recruit, supervise and develop staff members; engage volunteers in meaningful ways; and analyze and report on measurable outcomes. The Family Center Director will report to the Chief of Strategy and Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and supervise Family Center staff including: Parent Education Manager, parent education facilitators, children’s programming facilitators, part-time teachers in academic support programs, and client support services.
  • Manage expenses and annual budget
  • Manage and deepen relationships with community partners such as school districts, medical providers, and other nonprofit organizations for cross-referring Family Center participants
  • Set and manage to program goals and outcomes
  • Provide content and reporting for grant applications; meet with funders in cooperation with the grant manager
  • Serve on the management team and work collaboratively with other members on operations, volunteers, data management, special events planning and messaging
  • Participate in strategic planning that positions Neighbors Link as a leader in family services in Westchester County

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Three or more years of progressive experience managing similar programs
  • Experience tracking and reporting on program measurements and outcomes
  • Knowledge and ability to implement best practices in parent education
  • Collaborative and supportive approach to managing staff and interacting with peers
  • Experience managing volunteers preferred
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Effective interpersonal skills
