Census 2020 Project Manager - Temporary Position

Job Summary: Neighbors Link is looking for an experienced Project Manager to ensure that our Census program goals are designed, coordinated and implemented. This role is responsible for the design and implementation of innovative strategies to reach and engage hard to count populations in Westchester County, focusing in Mount Kisco and Ossining. The candidate should demonstrate a high level of cultural competence. The successful candidate must maintain a high level of quality control with attention to detail and be able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, both internally at Neighbors Link and and with other agencies and organizations. This position will require 20 to 40 hours per week. Part time and full time applicants accepted. This position will work under the supervision of the Director of Community Education.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

● Design and implement Neighbors Link Census 2020 strategy in partnership with the management team

● Develop and implement overall outreach and marketing strategy to clients, allies, providers, stakeholders, and overall community

● Plan and staff multiple strategic Census 2020 events from November through April

● Collaborate with Development and Communications team to develop outreach materials

● Conduct outreach

● Act as liaison between Neighbors Link and area census committees, including but not limited to Complete Count Committees in local towns

● Coordinate, train, and supervise all Neighbors Link Census volunteers and designated staff; track their outreach efforts

● Track all Neighbors Link census outreach and impact, including but not limited to work with clients, allies, providers, stakeholders, and overall community

● Report census outreach impact on a regular basis. Analyze data reports to track performance, assess effectiveness, and identify areas of improvement

● Coordinate all logistics for sites where community members will fill out the census (including staffing, room use, volunteers, computer availability)

● Perform any other duties as required

● Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Preferred Skills

● Excellent communication, time-management and multi-tasking skills, including the ability to take initiative, prioritize duties, pay close attention to detail, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure to meet specific deadlines

● Prior experience in program management and community organizing preferred

● Experience working in a non-profit community-based organization

● Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

● Experience working with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
