JOHN JAY HIGH SCHOOL WINS NEIGHBORS LINK FAMILY HEALTH DAY FOOD DRIVE COMPETITION

 

John Jay High School in Katonah is the 2011 winner of the Neighbors Link Food Drive competition among area high schools. The Food Drive, a friendly competition between students from Fox Lane High School in Bedford, Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua and John Jay High School in Katonah, delivered more than 1,000 non-perishable food and grocery items to the Community Center last week. 

High School Junior Kelsey Sklar led the successful student effort for John Jay High School, with support from the school’s “Mano e Mano” community service club.

NEIGHBORS LINK at the Nation of Immigrants Festival

Folks gathered Sunday Oct. 9, 2011 for the first-annual A Nation of Immigrants festival in downtown Mount Kisco. Coinciding with Columbus Day weekend, it was a collaboration between Neighbors Link, the Italian-American Club of Northern Westchester, ArtsWestchester, and PACT (Police and Community Together), in cooperation with the Village/Town of Mount Kisco and with support from the Westchester Community Foundation and Curtis Instruments.

NEIGHBORS LINK HONORS 2011 VOLUNTEERS

Neighbors Link has announced the winners of four 2011 volunteer awards, presented at celebrations honoring hundreds of Neighbors Link volunteers.

 

Kendra Burpee of Lincolndale, NY, a senior at Somers High School, was chosen to receive the Agnes Hassell Youth Leadership Award for her dedication to serving the elementary school children in the Neighbors Link “Learning Links” after-school program for several years.

The Neighbors Link Student Volunteer Award for “outstanding contribution and dedicated service” was presented to Austin Blumenfeld, a senior at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY. Austin has volunteered at Neighbors Link since his freshman year.

Kathy Rothschild of Chappaqua NY won the Mary Weiss Volunteer Spirit Award for her years of service as an adult volunteer staff member of Neighbors Link.

The second adult volunteer recognition, the Neighbors Link Outstanding Volunteer Award, was presented to Fiona Woods for donating countless hours to Neighbors Link and going above and beyond to support clients through some of their most difficult times and championing their needs.
